ask one of our fuel drivers.

had a car cut him off ( pulled out in front of him, and went same way he was travelling)

instead of rear ending the car, he took action to avoid the car, which caused him to roll over his fuel tanker full of fuel.

    so, it can be done.

Avoiding what would be a non-preventable accident to get into a preventable accident does not make any sense. A deer runs out into the road in front of you: hit the dang deer. Swerving is the LAST thing you want to do. If you're lucky enough to not roll it, who's to say you won't sideswipe and crush the soccer mom in the mini-van next to you?

Another one is braking into a jackknife and that trailer is going sidewards. Part of emergency braking is watching your trailer and prevent the jackknife. Once it comes around you lost control. So putting the brake pedal throough the floor isn't the smartest thing. Some accidents can't be avoided. Some injuries can't be avoided. You might turn a death into an injury by how you hit them though.

Ones actions trying to avoid an accident can even make it worse. If someone runs a redlight or such, a rapid yank of the wheel is going to put you over and possibly kill someone. I think it's better to accept the accident and try to control how it happens. Instead of hitting the drivers door and killing them. Try a slight manuever to hit them in the trunk. They might be in the hospital, but they survived the crash.

Deer impacts you can't prevent. They can change direction at any second. Where there's one, there's more behind them too. It's best to brake and hold her straight. It's up to the deer from there. A tore up front end is alot cheaper than a total loss.

I didn't swerve. I changed lanes in a rapid manner. And if that deer didn't get a bloody nose on my trailer, it's a miracle.

not disagreeing, but is killing the person in the car any better? than the soccer mom?

I never said he swerved without looking..............I said he took action.......( prolly swerved) not sure.....he did not hit anyone, by the way

Curious, do you get fired when your truck flips over when the weather is normal?

It's better than killing yourself. 4 wheelers need to learn that you need proper space to stop. If they don't give me that proper space and I can't stop, I'm going to hit them.

Don't they teach 4 wheeling drivers that at the DMV? They should have to sit in class and have a teacher go over and over about the dangers of unsafe driving since a lot of people do not know how unsafe they are until they get into a car accident and learn the hard way.

The load shifted and took it over, I was in on cleaning one up on 70 in KC Mo.

Several years ago when they rebuilt I 40 in Arkansas they didn't pack the dirt next to the shoulder and somebody would drop a wheel and sink. It seemed like there was a major fleet truck on it's side once a week.

Unless you have witnesses or got a piece of the other vehicle it didn't happen, preventable off road excursion.
