Interesting question, and I'm sure she would be more satisfied doing something. There have been many good ideas, of course the ones with more skills/training have the potential to bring in more money. I would think being able to write code for software could be very profitable along with other at-home computer jobs. IMHO, if your going with food, do something that is healthy-menu ideas.

Of course the real money maker is the same old way millionaires have done it forever. Go into the endeavor with an eye-open for an 'unfilled niche' you can fill.

So whatever you two come up with, always keep an eye open for a 'need' in the industry/life-style.

Be sure to post a note about your success after you set-up the josepholson foundation. Ha Ha :)

josepholson - Had a couple ideas for you today.

Jewelry making / wire wrapping. You can look it up on Youtube I'm sure. All the tools and supplies take up a minor amount of room. One Rubbermaid bin ought to do it. I have a family member that makes a fairly good supplemental income, doing something they enjoy doing.

A lot of book keepers work remotely these days, if she is so inclined. All the documents and receipts are shared back and forth on a cloud type system.

Maybe writing? I think someone brought up blogging already. I have several book ideas I'd love to have the time to research and get started on.

You can actually make a small fortune day trading...............................................................Of course you have to start with a big one first.

The best thing a ride along could do is continually look at a load board and choose what loads to pick. Get some experience and then check into becoming an O/O or a L/O. There are some good companys out there. Schneider IC choice program or Land Star. Not all leases are bad, just the most of them.

I have done trading for years and am still not successful: it takes a certain type of person and 90% of traders fail; but it can be done. To day trade more than 3 times per week one needs a $25k stock account, otherwise you need futures or forex. You can also get a play money account, and that is a good idea to learn how to trade.

I warn all of you, 90% of traders fail! If you really have what it takes, you can succeed, but many lose entire fortunes in the markets. Realize you are swimming with sharks when you trade: you are up against the best traders and computers in the world who want to take your money. Never risk more than a tiny amount of your whole account (bank roll) on any one trade. If you ever lose 25% of your entire account, STOP and reassess your trading ability. Too many people have gotten into this and lost their entire life savings. It takes at least 2-3 years for a talented trader to become successful, and even they often blow up their accounts once or twice.

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

    bergy Thanks this.
