cracked corn for me i would buy a small tote to fit inside the side box , fill it up with this crack corn, in winter this will do in a pinch as a traction aid, better then glare ice.

Does anybody have a suggestion for the best type or brand of coffee pot for in the truck?
I don't know if it was the cigarette lighter inverter I was using or the coffee pot but I had trouble using a regular auto drip coffee maker previously. The power would flash on and off in about 5 second increments? Weird... Do you all use just a regular auto drip or a percolater or what? -
I use a coffee press made by MSR

You will never do better than with a French Press but you would have to grind your beans and add hot water for 4 Min.
This might sound complex but unless you just don't care about what you drink this is how to do it right.

I spend about $5 to $6 daily on food. Have been able to keep my weight within one or two pounds with no problem. I occasionally eat at truck stops when I have enough points to pay for the meal. I mainly shop at Sams Club and Walmart. I have one of the lunch box ovens and a refrigerator that I run on a small inverter plugged into the lighter outlet. Carry sandwich materials, soups, fruit, snacks, and microwave dinners that fit in the lunchbox oven. Works great and saves me a lot of money.

As for coffee you could always just use instant instead of buying truck stop garbage. Heat up the water in the nuker or a lunch box oven and presto.
Hey anybody ever look into MRE's like they use in the Armed Forces? Those dang things go for $50 for a case of 12. But each one is a complete meal with beverage, utensils, and condiments, and food warmer. You just add water. Kind of cool!
