27 years OTR with a spotless record here and they won't hire me "not qualified" was the response.

Too each there own. Its not all about the money for me. I got out of trucking anyway, joined the plumbers and pipefitters union, 4 day work weeks, and day shift too boot holy cow I have a life again.

Because W.M. wants drivers who are at a certain stage in their career. Problem is if you work at it by the time you reach that stage in your career you can also be an o/o having your own business, much more freedom and a paycheck that makes W.M.'s $72,000/yr look like half a years pay.

I'm unaware of many company drivers that make what they do. I'm definitely open to hearing about a few though ;)

If you go back and read my first you'd see what I was getting at. Never said I was company. I'm leased on to a carrier. I have a 2014 tractor that I lived in a truck for 4yrs as a company guy to pay cash for. Personally I make a lot more than $72, 000 not quite double but close. And I'm only leased on to a carrier at this stage in my career. W.M.'s pays company drivers well but there looking for vets and not all vets wanna stay company.

    Ashley furniture.

I'll do 72k this year maybe a little more and only halfway up the pay scale. Don't have any of the micromanagement or bs rules to put up with and drive a nicer truck too.

I'm on the truckload side. Our LTL guys can do into the mid 90's but they earn every penny of it.

You're right though.....there aren't many gigs out there at their level and most if not all of them are private fleets, not the common carriers.

Do they allow drivers to use the phone while driving using bluetooth true hands free technology? Do they know voice text is also hands free bluetooth technology? So you can be fired for one but not the other? Just curious.
