That '98 was probably the best Trk I've had.

Well, there ya go. You have a preference for Internationals, which I suspect can influence your views.

    I'm not a freightshaker fanboy.

The only International I have experience with is the Prostar. I've been in a situation where I went straight from that to a Cascadia.

And the difference for me in turning radius, interior space, and ergonomics was like night and day.

Yeah pro star's are crap. The last freightliner I had was a '98 fld it was a good Trk. But I wouldn't own a newer one.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to Prostars.

I'd be silly to comment on any other make/model that I haven't driven.

I've never even seen the inside of a cascadia. I rented a Columbia once, and I thought it was a complete turd.

Currently running a '16, the other one was a '15. Bot have less than 150,000 miles on the clock. So I can't say anything about the durability of the dash. I do like the set up, though. But that's just my opinion.

I drove a 95 International for about two years. The thing was a tank and had a steering wheel about the size of a truck tire. No engine brake and the thing couldn't climb. It couldn't even get out of its own way. Turning wasn't the best I've ever driven but it wasn't even close to the worst. It leaked oil constantly. BUT, the darn thing wouldn't quit and it NEVER broke down. All mechanical. Then, they bought me a new Pete and that truck probably broke down 15 times the first year-it had some major computer and electrical issues.

There's few of them around compared to Kw's Peterbuilts, Freightliners & Volvo's however i don't hear much about Mack's, Mercedes, or Western Star either.

You see more of them as day cabs, a lot more. Fleets of them here in the NE. Penske leases the day cabs by the fleet to companies here. Shoprite owns their own trailers, but lease all their day cab power units from Penske, plus the o/o they hire.

Just watch what day cabs you see driving down the road. I would say Internationals are half a step below a Freightliner in cost and quality.....but I only know the international day cabs.
