Just enough to shake the house, and the idling noise.

For me it's a engine stand big enough to keep Kitty from getting loose and tear things up. Figure a 10 gallon barrel would feed it overnight. Find something to run the house off it. Probably a bunch of inverters where cooling them is not a issue.

That's a really good idea. Wonder if the housing authority would approve

There's lots of diesel engine idling clips on YouTube if you need the sound for sleeping.

I like the sound of running river water or ocean waves breaking when going to sleep. YouTube has lots of those too.

Personal safety is definitely a concern when you stop. We team drive so we don't have that problem but my trainer did suggest using a ratchet strap between the doors so they cannot be unlocked from the outside.

Just closed all the curtains and head to straight to bed. I love sleeping in my truck bed. It is so comfortable I don't want to get out of bed. But I feel really comfortable and good sleeping in my own rig. Because I get my own peace of not bother by other people who will knock on my door. Like ex: lot lizard.

Sleep great in my truck. Love it. New Volvo mattress. 3 inch memory foam helps.
If you fear knocking at the door. Get a pit bull.
Could mount a reefer unit on the bedroom wall at home. Be a big hit with the wife.

I agree with that 100%. Nowadays you don't Idle the trucks as much. But that diesel purring all night just rocked me right to sleep.

When you have a truck that really runs right and it fires so evenly and perfectly it just puts you right into the best sleep you ever had in your whole life.
