Since the yr has ended for me I am curious how i did vs some others if you can be somewhat forthcoming.. I drove 105,226 miles for the year. 38 weeks out give or take a few days. My net is 58259 minus repairs/maintenance which wasnt more than $5k. My truck is paid for. My taxable income should be around 23k after depreciation(19k), per diem(8-9k), and IRA contribution(5k) so I will get back some of the $8k in tax ive already paid. I pull for 1 of the big companies so i know my mileage rate is lower than it could be, its just very easy here and no1 bothers me. If you need to know which one goto my album below. Any feedback or job offers welcome

First off, Congrads. on making it a full year, some don't even get that far.

IMO- You could have done the same if not better as a company driver without anywhere near as much hassal and plenty of home-time. You could actually have a life, and make those type of figures.
Please don't get offended, just my opinion.
TURKER Thanks this. -
If your happy thats all that matters. To me thats low.

before we start picking him apart, we need to know if you pull their trailers, drop/hook? Insurance, etc. You should also put aside some monies for truck payments should yours conk out on you. Even though its payed for, you really should take that into account.

Maybe i read wrong but didn't he say out only 38 weeks, As a company driver he couldn't only work 38 weeks and net 58k. i'd say you did good if you're happy with it and got 14 weeks vacation this year..

My net is after ALL other expenses besides repairs/maint. .. I use the company trailers free of charge, about 70% drop n hook.. Im single, no kids, stay with family when off the road, and debt free for now so i saved enough the first 18 months to buy another truck if i wanted....Doing some rough figuring my take home was around 1450$ a week for the weeks i worked, doubt i could make that as a company driver without being a trainer or driving 50 weeks. I want to work less. 35 weeks this coming yr!!!!! thanks for all feedback

What was your gross income before any expense?
-
How much after REPAIRS/MAINT?
-
Gross isnt important, i dont want to get blasted for the low cpm i drive for lol
You have the mileage and my net..I do get close to 7mpg avg.
Repairs were less than $5000.00
Clutch, couple tires, oil changes
after tax return i should be close to 55000 net for the year, thats in my pocket!Last edited: Dec 30, 2011

I'd say you were successful given your desires and th 14 weeks not working.... Good luck next year.
