Your best source would be an organization that knows you, such as your present bank or credit union. Credit unions are a good source since interest rates are usually calculated using simple interest and may also offer lower interest rates than banks or finance companies. Not all banks offer financing for class 8 trucks. Some lenders who don't normally make loans for class 8 equipment will make a business loan or line of credit loan for business purposes. If you are a home owner, you could also check into getting a home equity loan or line of credit to make your purchase. However, I would caution you against using your home to purchase your truck.

There are lenders who specialize in making equipment loans. Navistar (International Harvestor), Paccar, Mercedes Credit or Chrysler Credit are some who make loans for class 8 equipment. Rates are likely going to be higher than local sources. There are also leasing companies that finance equipment. These are like conventional lenders except that loans are set up like a lease and you own the equipment when you pay the last payment. You still pay a down payment and unlike a lease purchase from a carrier, you are free to move the truck anywhere you wish or to get your own authority. All they care about is that you have good credit, a down payment and that you make your payments on time.

Cash for used 05 Columbia. No payments.

I had $30k cash I had been saving for a long while. Truck was $20k. Didnt feel $10k was enough of a cushion. Borrowed $20k from my mother inlaw.

6 months later, everyone and everything is paid off. I owe no one.
