How did you get your truck? Buy straight out? Buy from company? Private lease? Lease op? AND..... Would you do it the same way again?

Witchcraft, I tell you!
Or the more in-depth version... contractor of ours was hanging it up and retiring to Florida, he made me a deal I couldn't pass up on two trucks and end dump trailers... on 28' framed aluminum with two pusher axles, one steel 48' frameless rock tub. Plus I got his two drivers along with them. -
Bought first truck for 8k cash four years ago buying my second from carrier i,m leased too off their fleet by the time i,m ready for 3 and 4 it will be with cash at dealership because money will be falling out of my pockets
BORNtoROAM and luvtotruck Thank this. -
Cash for the first 1, financed the second, constant paranoia about making enough $ (sometimes a reality), cash for the third. I personally prefer cash, 1 easy payment.
281ric and TruckingWolf Thank this. -
I bought my first truck in 1981 (a 1972 Brockway). Paid cash and borrowed 5 grand for operating expenses (at 19 3/4 % ) . I have bought many trucks since some out right some all borrowed money. But I have NEVER leased a truck from anyone and NEVER will. I just cant see wasting my time and money getting screwed over by the fat cats any worse then I already do .

I paid cash for my first truck. Got a very good deal from a man retiring. Waiting on Paccar to release title for my second truck (financed). This one has been a struggle. Even though I've been in trucking for 10 years ( about 6 months as an o/o ) I am a first time buyer. Interest rate through the wazoo and other bs.
if you can pay cash, do it! If you can't, you have to do what you have to. -
When I got into trucking I had. $20,000 to my name gave $12,500 for my first truck and $4,500 for a 45ft flatbed POS but it got me where I am today, And I sold the truck three years later for $18,k and that trailer I got $6,500.
I just got a new truck same thing paid cash been dealing with the back two weeks they finally said when you file your 2013 taxes bring that in and will see what we can do (they already had 2011 and 2012 in there hand) lenders just don't care about people anymore 748 credit with B paper but I work for myself so I'm a bad guy.....
like I told the bank I have had my own authority now six years I made thru the recession if that didn't get me what's going to stop me now!milskired and BORNtoROAM Thank this.
