The biggest issue I have with trainers in general is way too many of them are using the trainees logbooks for extra miles or to sleep. I also thing the biggest majority of them should not be training because of their lack of experience. Unfortunately this is a problem across almost everyone of the mega carriers and a good deal of the smaller carriers. In fact the safety man at the last company I drove for asked me several times when I was at the home terminal to help drivers get their logs straight. This is a ticking time bomb that is going to go off very soon. No matter where you train you run a serious danger of getting a bad/dangerous trainer, unless of course you are with a very small carrier
How difficult is it really for new Driver to find employment?

I will admit that this site has some difficulty presenting all the information, but LiveTrucking did not point out that distinction. As they reported it, it sure sounds like training. http://www.livetrucking.com/large-t...allow-non-cdl-holders-to-drive-by-themselves/

I've been using the practice exams from this site to prepare for the permit. I've basically just been taking the exams over and over again while memorizing the questions/answers. I've averaging a 90% pass rate.
Is there anything else you would suggest I study in order to prepare for the permit? -
Download and read the CDL manual for your state. Some states will use the questions straight from the manual’s sample questions.deevel79 Thanks this.

Cristcdl also has practice questions that I found helpful.
