Its being rumored that at this Spring's Broker Cabal Meeting the High Council will be voting to move the fees to 60%. We're meeting in a subterranean lair under an undisclosed mountain outside of Zurich where we'll secretly puppeteer the logistics industry, burn effigies of Jimmy Hoffa, and perform the ritualistic sacrifice of owner operators as part of our new broker initiation process.
Its the social event of the season.tommymonza, AaronP, Lite bug and 3 others Thank this. -
Most of the big 3PLs are publicly traded. You can see their financials, it's obvious to anyone that does even a little homework that they average no where near 30-50% markup, the average is probably around 15%.

How dare you bring logic and facts to an emotional rant.RockinChair, Tomek373, tommymonza and 6 others Thank this.

You seem to be totally against anything any broker does starting with your username, and you're posting in the only section here where brokers hang out, I guess thinking you're going to change someone's mind? I really don't get it. Brokers are as big a part of trucking as trucks are. If you don't like it, why keep doing it?
Sorry to tell you that they are necessary. They find freight you aren't willing to find and offer it to you, they solve problems and God forbid they make a living at it. I'm sure you hate the government for being the government as well, foreigners for being foreign and life for making you have to go make a living.
Do you hate grocery stores too for charging you for food you didn't have to grow or slaughter?
Good luck.tommymonza, clausland, AaronP and 3 others Thank this. -
Profit margin for major carriers is 3-4% so if your making more than they are your over paid. Why in hell would you think your entitled to more, drivers must just like to pick on you guys it couldnt be that most brokers do a bad job. Im not against all brokers just the 90% that are incompetent or try to sell freight that doesnt even cover costs.D.Tibbitt and Muddydog79 Thank this.

Large brokerages are very lucky to see 3-4% net margins at the end of the year. And if you don't like what you're doing then do something else. You want some links to a couple of excellent freight broker training sites? LMK and I'll post them for you or can PM them to you.JimmyTwoTimes and spyder7723 Thank this.

Take your logic a step farther. Since you want to limit a brokerage to the average mega carrier profit rate you must also want to limit the profit margin of owner operators to the same rate and same driver pay. So what is that? 45 cpm in wages and 4% business profit?tommymonza, 86scotty, clausland and 2 others Thank this.

Im gonna find the next time this guy has an available truck posted on the load board and I'm going to call him playing the opening scene music from Cape Fear and talk in front of a fan like Darth Vader when I offer him a load at $0.50 per mile. I'm afraid he'd stroke out or something though.PPLC Thanks this.

Please do. I want to hear that. I'd even consider bending my strict adherence to the site rules to get a copy of the audio!
KnightMare84 Thanks this.
