i live in north scottsdale. it's very pricey up there. i like it though. wherever i drive. i don't see any graffiti. i can leave my garage open all week long while i'm home, and not have to worry about some adam henry making an attempt to steal anything. the neighborhood watch program actually works, and the night life is pretty #### good. the ladies are also hot. they're fun to bring back to my humble abode.
this OTR game was fun when i started. the money was actually there. it was what i considered worthwhile. however, with more regulating, this'll only get worse. i HAD a local gig lined up when i stopped OTR back in march. it wasn't a driving job, either. it was at a nearby airport where i live refueling the airplanes. a sudden hiring freeze is what jacked me over. -
i thought it was hilarious yeah new drivers including me we can't make much at first and staying with a starter company like i see so many truckers do you'll never make much at all. Smaller companies that don't advertise as much pay the most my dad racked in anywhere from 900 to 1500 a week and was home 3 days a week most of the time sometimes he'd make it home during the 4 day period he was out for a 10 hr period. Also when he started he done about 650 a week which isn't bad compared to other jobs out there and hey you get to see the country tough it out its not so bad you'll either hate it or love it. and after you get the experience you should have no problem bringing in anywhere from 800-1000 a week if so then your doing it wrong or have accidents or maybe it just isn't your thing you'll know make it three months and hey you'll know then and also talk to drivers from smaller firms they'll tell you more mula but you need more exp for them like after a year get a good regional or dedicated job then after another year or two get a even better job then you'll be set and can be home everyday or every few days whatever fits you some people would rather stay otr some like local and don't listen to recruiters you can do 50k or more a year local with experience dedicated linehaul drivers for certain places can make great pay and be home everyday and off on their weekends.

The companies that are worth working for rarely advertise. They don't have to, as the drivers find them. It takes work. Get off your butt, and go out there and market yourself. Don't sit on a chair, in front of a computer e-mailing recruiters. Talk to drivers, all over the place, and not just the ones with trucks that have names you recognize. Talk to tanker drivers. Look into hauling propane or other hazardous products. Do you have to do more work............. yes. Will you make more money............... yes.
Stop sitting around complaining that you can't make any money being a company truck driver. It is BS. The only stopping you, is you. If you make garbage, it is because you accept making garbage................ or you really love what you do.
CPM doesn't mean anything. CPM X miles = something. You can make $1 a mile, if you don't get the miles, you don't make any money. Everyone on here is so hung up on CPM, when that is only a part of the equation. There are many other ways a company can pay you. Being narrow minded only limits your possibilities. There are many company drivers out there making $50-130K a year. It happens, but you have to find where.
