#1 ULSD is different than kerosene. Kerosene is like #1 heating oil and that CAN NOT be run in newer trucks. You can run it in older equipment but still not recommended

I'm a company driver in a 2019 Freightliner. I ran in the recent cold temps in Michigan and Illinois and the truck ran and idled just fine with no issues. My air lines froze up overnight when it got down to -19 or whatever it was.

I spent 3 nights in motels just in case as I was not equipped to change the fuel filters or deal with no heat in the middle of the night if the fuel froze.

As far as finding out what the station treats their fuel too, good luck. Nobody ever knows. Best I got was at a TA in Pennsylvania where it said they treat their fuel when the weather is below 10F. What use is that information?

I'm just talking about 5gals in each tank to keep the fuel from gelling, saved my arse more than once. Now a bottle of Howes each tank every fill up.
