    I'm a newbe,have been driving a tanker truck in the oil field for one year. I earn hourly but the work is turning out to be hit and miss.I've been looking to go OTR but I have a family and can not afford to go out there and get ripped off (One hard lesson would financially destroy) and nobody wants to talk to you with no OTR experience. HOW DO I BREAK FREE ??????????

    after researching companys and talking to some ol timers I think for the time being I'll stay where I'm at and take my lumps as they come. LOL I'll just keep plugging away at getting my experience and ride things out. AT LEAST I'M EMPLOYED

    I know exactly what you are going through right now as I am in the exact same
    situation. I live in Louisiana and lease to Acme hauling oilfield equipment, right
    now work is the slowest I've ever seen it. Granted I've only been driving in the
    oilfield for 2 years but worked in it for about 7 years now. I've also talked with
    guys that have been doing this for anywhere from 30 to 50 years and they are
    starting to say this is the worst they've ever seen it.:biggrin_25521::biggrin_25513:

    Ya i hear ya man I'm in east Texas round hallsville running outta carthage right now but right now i can work 70 hours one week and only 10 the next so I guess we'll just have to make it work. Its pretty sad when you wanna see gas prices rise lol

    LMFAO I been saying the sane thing about the gas prices!! People think
    I'm crazy:biggrin_25523: but I'd rather pay more for gas and have steady work than buy
    cheap gas and have no work. At least with high gas there would be work
    to afford it.

    I was in Carthage just the other day, I think it was Wednesday of last week. I
    do there pretty often bringing drill pipe to all the rigs up there.

    right on man ya right now we're running alot out at Tally bottom near hallsville. As soon as i'm on hear long enough I'll get on the oil field social group. Keep em rollin bro I cant do my thing until you do your thing lol

    Yeah I really wish the work would pick up. I just got a call to go down to
    Port Fourchon and bring some equipment back here to Broussard. This
    is my first load since last week when I went up to Carthage.
