See, and I believe you. There's plenty of places where the shipper/customer have almost all black people or all mexicans working for them. So if a white guy were to tell me he went to one of them, and was disrespected or talked to funny I wouldn't call him a liar. That's why it kind of irks me that people are acted like its so out of the equation for a young black kid from Dallas to be treated disrespectfully in the middle or Arkansas or rural Michigan by a racist shipper.

What evidence do you have that anyone was rude to you because of your race?
Not your feelings. Evidence and facts.Dumdriver Thanks this. -
I always just replied with yo what do you want me to do with this load.
Xzay Thanks this. -
I'm not sure what experience you have, but I've run across my fair share of racism in this industry (as a white male, it's never directed towards me of course, but too many people feel their opinions are worth sharing in my presence).
My company won't send a couple of our drivers to several different customers because of the racism they face at those places. Racism isn't dead my friend, especially in trucking and the freight industry.TequilaSunrise, double yellow, austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -
I don't have any evidence that they were racist nor did I claim to have any in the OP. I listed 3 reasons why I think they were rude. 1 was my race. 2 was my age. 3 was my company.
Never did I once come in this thread saying that "I was disrespected by a shipper because I'm black"
But since we're on the topic, I've been to plenty of shippers and customers so far, from my time solo to my time with my mentor, and the only ones who have ever been rude to me or my mentor(who was African) were the white ones.windsmith Thanks this. -
This why you sometimes have to make the complaint to the security service.
I had a similar problem with one at a home depot but was able to get a face to face with the on duty manager at HD we had a very polite conversation .
The next time through same time same day different week I ask were she( name) was.
" oh she doesn't work here anymore"
Big smile from the guard that was telling me this.
Just remember Sometimes it's your complaint that breaks the camel's back. -
That business probably got rid of him. With a guard like this one who needs enemies.

I've had a similar experience. All the rude shippers I've dealt with have been white.
And I'm white.
They must hate white people too.
Or could it be that they are just generally rude and miserable people that hate their job?austinmike and Florida Playboy Thank this. -
Idk what's offending you about this thread or why you're so defensive. I don't think that all white are racist. This thread was asking how to deal with racist shippers in general, not once in the OP did I even specify their race, they could've been Mexican, or asian.
This isn't the forum for this so I'll just agree to disagree. I understand you may not believe it, but I'm not going to act like I don't get treated differently by SOME people due to the color of my skin. It is what it is. -
I thought your original post was about how to deal with rude shippers.
I believe every word you say about some shippers being rude. You are absolutely correct that some of them are miserable people. And they visit their misery upon others. In short, they suck. I'm with you on that.
I simply pointed out that unsubstantiated claims of racism are not constructive.Xzay Thanks this.
