    Go online an type in your make of gps (example) GARMIN.com and it should show if there are updates for your model. Most updates will cost you a fee unless your GPS came with free updates.

    What is the brand of the unit?
    Most companys will charge you to update your unit. Go to the company website for your unit and check.
    Or do what the crazy guy said lol.
