Years ago I had 6 loads to pull out of Houston, jensen drive in Houston to be exact. I slept at the shipper in an old A model with no air. Back then I would sometimes sleep on the trailer or even under it when it was hot out. I slept or tried to in the sleeper, but with both doors open, trying to get any hint of a breeze.
I loaded the next morning and told them, they should look else where for a truck to haul the other 5 loads. lol
How do i finally make Money? *Contract Ending*

The drop was down by the beach with no truck stops for 50 miles but the broker said they had parking on site and it wouldn't be a problem to get there the night before and take 10.
So, like a dummy, I roll in at the end of my clock, get parked, and go to bed. About 20 minutes later, some security guard knocks on my door telling me that the residents are complaining about my engine idling and that I have to turn it off... It's about 90 degrees and 90% beach type humidity.
After the drop the next day, the broker asked if I wanted another one. I declined even though I knew better than to try and sleep there. I just didn't like the dishonesty of him sacrificing my rest just to make sure I showed up early. -
Very possible that the broker didn't know about the residents requirements.
A few years ago I went down to anchorage on a gravel job.
The first morning I was there early and the first truck in line to be loaded, I was scolded for being there, company trucks loaded first.
The next morning I parked on the shoulder at the gate to wait for the company trucks to get there and in line, I was scolded for parking there, to close to a residential area. I then told them I had never in my life been scolded for being early to work, and didn't think I wanted to continue with this program. lolFairweather Thanks this. -

3 ways to make more money. 1) OK CPM and drive huge miles, or 2) higher CPM and average miles. 3) guaranteed salary plus excess mileage pay. Methods 2 & 3 don't require you to work yourself to death.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
