How do I get a job driving OTR if I'm not a USA citizen

I've spent a year in Alberta Canada in 2014 so I had to go through all that BS I still have a Canadian CDL ' but I soon learned that a lot of these companies that import drivers are bottom feeders and plus my experience of Canadians is there rude and complete ### holes especially in trucking industry .
