CDL mill? They wanna make sure you know what your doing before you leave their school. And if you fail any tests they let you retake them. Im happy with my decision to go to the school. I've gone to 3 open houses and they let you drive a truck around their 1 and 1/4 mile track
    Its pretty cool.

and you feel that 3 weeks is going to be enough training to operate an 80,000 vehicle on public roads.

Nope, but hey, Ill be starting out slow. Ill be a yard jockey for a trucking company. Driving around dump trailers. No school can ever prepare you for real world experiences. But hey, its better than no training at all. When i turn 21 hopefully I can get a better job. Maybe work for an OTR company.

unfortunately, not everyone who graduates will have that opporitunity.

They'll be told that once they graduate they'll be ready to drive OTR...

then they'll all work for Swift! ;)

    we all do.
I'm going through a community college in my hometown.
Our course is 4 months long. But we get a LOT of time driving on the road. Last Thursday we took a trailer to Wabasha, MN which is right on the Mississippi river, and yesterday we drove to Sioux Falls, SD to pick up a different trailer. The school shuttles trailers around for a local trailer dealer, it works out great for both parties. The students get time on the road, and the dealer gets their trailers moved for free.
