How do I handle delivering/stopping in sundown towns I don't feel safe in

Detroit is worse than Chicago. I spent the night in both cities and never felt threatened, not even a little bit. Miami was a different story. Detroit and Chicago, people just walked by and minded their own business. In Miami, FL I had people lingering staring at my trailer in dark alleys and such.

In Miami I would see the most expensive cars I have ever seen in person driving down the roads, but also lots of gangs. Its like Grand Theft Auto in the flesh. A high energy town.

Detroit was just very run down but low energy. The vibe was everyone just wanted to be left alone.

OP if you can try to trip plan where you can get the hell out of there after you deliver. It doesn't matter if you have to drive 60 miles, don't ask just do it and let dispatch know your position if they ask about it.

Better yet, let safety know if they give you crap about it. I bet they won't say a thing to you if you bring it to safety on why you drove a bit far to get out of that area after delivering.

    Stay safe OP.

Yeah, I watched some guy in Laredo bend up a piece of metal banding and place it in between my trailer tires. Bent it so it would stand vertical and cut the tires when i moved. Been rammed by forklift drivers with a small coil, from different places. They didn't even try to stop, just let the trailer stop them.
Had people stop in the middle of the road "commercial area" jump out and steal a trailer light, jump back in and take off. Ahh.. good old Laredo... Never any problems anywhere else along the border, just Laredo.

The border towns are some of the most quiet uneventful places I have visited in Texas and Arizona. We go down to the border a lot because Mexicans like to cross the border and donate plasma. They get paid for it and I imagine the currency exchange rate works in their favor. The border locations always do a lot business, they ship 200-500 cases a week.

Brownsville TX by itself will fill an entire trailer of donated blood. If the borders are really the war zones made they are made out to be, its only happening when I am not there. There must be a seize fire on pick up days.

That dallas j has been a crack infested dump for over 20 years I know of. I only stopped at the TA once, and that was within a week of it opening, it was the very first one I knew of that didn't have a sit down restaurant in it, so never saw a need to sytop there again. If I had to stay on that side, would rive plumb out to terrel and stay at rip griffins.

+1. I don't go to TX border towns. They are full of criminals. I have many Mexican friends here in Cali but in TX border areas you can meet all kind of bad people. These areas are more dangerous than Detroit. Plus if you don't speak Spanish and look different they will load or unload longer. they will load or unload Hispanic drivers first then you. ####ed up areas and I don't go there long time now.
