I do NOT know how old this information is, but here is a LINK to where this report can be obtained!

I would also point out that CLUE is not 100% and there is another company that does this as well. It's called A-Plus and handled by Verisk. Get BOTH as well as a yearly copy of your hireright report.

Apply for driving jobs. The carriers will let you know what is on your driving records.

Internet search your state and MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD. If anybody's insurance paid money to anyone then that event is in an insurance database. Companies have access to more than MVR, state DL, etc.

Insurance companies can see a private database of claims.

Yes, DMV and abstract are the same thing.

my state only goes back 3 years. while many companies i applied to wanted 5 years, all they ever got from me was 3 years, as that's what the DMV gives me when i pay for it.

companies can do a lifetime check on you if they really want to, but that costs money. i have never known any company i applied to, not accept what i gave them.

i have also never known any company i applied to go thru an insurance companies deep background check on my DMV.

    don't over think this.

get your DMV either in person, or online, at YOUR DMV, watch out for sites that say they can do it for you. GO TO your state's official website..!!!

online cost me something like $2.00 over the normal fee of going in person.

In that case I am not sure if I should disclose my accident to the companies, as it was minor and also doesn't show on the DMV abstract. Worth taking a chance?

No it's not. MVR isn't the only place it's recorded (or not). CLUE (insurance) is another popular one. If it happened the companies insurance will see it and then you are fired for lying on your application.
