OP needs about a year+ working for a company. If he's single. I'd go OTR with a mega. That way his sleeper is his apartment. Stick all that money he'd pay in rent/electric...etc away for his business. I will state I am still working towards my CDL. I am in no way any way an expert. I state this from advice I've seen and trust from knowledgeable drivers on here. It's also what I would do personally. As 1-5 years OTR living out of your sleeper will have you saving 80% of your income that you don't have to spend on normal living expenses. If that is 40-60k net would be saving 32-48k a year. Again these are spit ball numbers based on my personal expenses. Cuz living out of the truck I'd only have personal auto insurance, cellphone and food. Not a heck of a lot.

How do you start a dump truck company? With a really good dump truck, and a good set of work boots.
Dino soar and tommymonza Thank this. -
You need steady work ...... your own machines at one end or the other is the way to go. But that’s hard to do.
Or you’ve got to start at the bottom of the list somewhere (quarry or pit) and WORK your way up........BigDog Trucker Thanks this. -
