Try looking on cbtricks.com ....
click on- Radio Schematics, Manuals, etc.
then go to the Cobra radio section and find your radio. -
Interesting, but I don't see where it tells me how to turn down the power.
-
Google “cobra 29 cap resistor mod”.
-
Take it to a good shop who can align it right and adjust the driver section of the RF strip to lower the wattage.
Too many hacks and idiots mess with the final stage and mess it up, very few know how to make the adjustment.
But be aware that those amps which require lower wattage are cheaply made.rabbiporkchop and BTShepp Thank this. -
I have a cheap amp, 50 watts output.
I am thinking about getting a XForce amp, but they also require 2 watts. -
If it requires 2watts drive to me it is a cheap amp. Cost is not a factor, the design is and these amps have not changed in design since the early 70's.
-
so what name brand amps are good amps?
-
How about not running a splatter amp?
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
