While this hasn't pertained too me for a very loooong time--I have to agree w/Irondog here--find a good friend or family member that way--you can be informed if something very important comes up--vs say a registered letter sitting behind a counter your post office for a month or so....In my case (years ago)--I had all my mail go to my Mom--and opened a BUSINESS checking account where she was listed as an officer in the company--therefor could pay bills etc.....Of course to day--on the other hand(if you trust it)most if not all of your bills etc. can be handled and paid on line--but I guess I am just old fashioned.
The other alternative that I know works very well--is to have your accountant or bookeeper handle this for you--I have a few very good friends--that have their business correspondence and bills sent directly to their accountant(who usually ends up with them quarterly anyway) and they handle it for them--might cost a few more bucks--but beats late payment etc,,,\

Yep...that's been my experience with P.O. Boxes. They (postal workers) have always told me that "by law" they can not pitch any mail....even the "so-called" JUNK. So...mine would always fill.wattd55 Thanks this.

I wouldn't even worry about the size. They have to hold it if it doesn't fit. Like you said, they can't throw anything away. Let them store it in a free cardboard box on the floor. My PO even has huge package boxes that they put packages in. Then they put that key in your box.
Let them worry about it. I never had them problems anyway. I'm just sayin...
wattd55 Thanks this. -
I beg to differ on this one. According the the post master in my town, they will hold it as a courtesy but they are not required to hold it indefinitely. I forgot what the rules are, which I was quoted more than once, and which led to me having this huge box.
And registered mail they only hold for a few days, give you 3 chances to pick up, then it goes back. -

Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail..............
AXE Thanks this. -
Have a P.O. Box. What few bills I have now come due around the middle of the month, I do my hometime around the first weekend of the month. I then schedule payments through online banking.

In regards to this subject, what if there was a business that offered a service where you could log in and see all of your mail online? Is this something you think would go over well in the trucking industry?
I'm not trying to advertise so I won't say the name, but just trying to do some market research before I open the business. I am just hoping if I sink the money in to open this business that it won't fail. Any feedback would be appreciated. -
I've seen it advertised on the web already.

4 months late on the response here, but if your P.O. Box is current, no employee of the post office is allowed to discard any mail assigned to that Box. Once the Box is discontinued due to non-payment, all mail not collected must be sent back to sender.
As long as that box is paid for, that post office cannot do anything with the mail sent to it, but collect it.
My dad worked 24 years for the USPS. And I was a curious kid. -
Would you mind messaging me a name or a link for that company?
