He runs a daycab Freightliner. I dunno if running something with a 230 inch wheelbase would be the best option, but it's possible I'd guess. This truck I'm driving is 220 and I wouldn't hesitate to go in the places he goes
I used to go to NYC with a sleeper pulling a 53' van. Many times in Manhattan which after my first couple times wasn't bad. After I got to know which streets to get on to get out of there. There were some places in Queens and Brooklyn that were a lot worse. Glad I did it but I wouldn't want to do it again.
About the last 4 years running OTR, I did Steady Runs. I had places I stopped for a Stretch, Scratch The Glass, Toilet, Coffee, then "gitty up go".
SAME RUN, NEVER "BORING", ALWAYS SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!
Usually a few hours apart. Every trip same Fueling options.
Example: Friday, leave Greensboro, NC. 9-10A, I-85 to S.C., exit 57. Add some Freight.
Sometimes Fuel northern or Southern S.C.
Get back on Skating Rink to Hotlanta, east side watermelon 400 to Forest Park.
Nice Break, get some Freight. Off to I-20W.
Usual stop western GA. X 5, but not every time. Alabama, unless Scale open, keep going to exit 17, L&B Truck-Stop on Left (sometimes shut down before Birmingham if latter dark-30 out of GA.).
Sat., Split about 0800 into Miss., maybe stop at SPACEWAY for Fuel. If not, keep going to 1st rest area for walkabout and fluid release.
Next Stop East Side Louisiana past Scale, sometimes Rest Area, sometimes Porn Shop across from dilapidated/worn out "truck stop".
West Side LA., maybe Petro before Texas OR into TX to 1st Rest Area. Depended upon Weather and Traffic.
Next stop, Rest Area b4 Rt. 80 cutoff or into Coppell.
Offload/Reload site in Coppell, TX., near DFW Aerio-port.
Usually carried 2 spent 15/40 Rotella Jugs with screw on (no spill) caps for Nights when stopped as well EMERGENCIES.
