Your days vary. Start time is when you start driving. You may be up and ready, but have no dispatch yet, so you're sitting, not knowing when you will get a dispatch. Could be 5 minutes or 5 hrs. Hard to mosey to the gym and you get a dispatch 10 minutes later, but don't read it until 2 hrs later when you get back.

Depends how long you work for that day is when you are off the clock. I bobtail to gyms or run if they are close to truck stops, safe parking, shippers/receivers. Apart from a gym I run, do push ups/sit ups, and carry weights in the truck. When I am not on the road I hit the gym more or workout with my sister who does iron man training. (that really works even if its only a few times a month). Also, I run loose leaf logs and the hos don't bother me. Another thing is a dedicated route or routes you travel a lot. This helps because you can find gyms and parks. I go to Texas, mainly Houston, a lot and am familiar with the area. I know what gyms I can park close by at, and good parks, like memorial. The main concern should be parking, but as an independent I am willing to take the risk, but prefer to do it empty. Besides, trucking lets you stay in shape. Don't pull a box. Pull flats, steps, rgns, or tanks.

Thanks to google maps you can check for area's big enough for truck parking. My company had a 24hr fitness account. 1 of the gyms in Houston I could park behind it. One of the gyms in Ft Worth it was it had a street next to it that I could park on and wouldn't be bothered. 1 in Arlington, and Omaha I parked on the property and they didn't say anything. But of course you have to go during the off peak hours, because even during peak hours 3-7 its hard to find parking for a 4wheeler. So no room for a big truck to maneuver around. Also a company watches out of route miles. If you are going out of route to hit gyms. They are going to be having a talk with you. Dude I was benching 315 but haven't been to the gym in awhile after a couple weeks I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem getting 275 up. You should be a personal trainer instead of a truck driver if lifting is important to you. I'm sure you would make better money as well.

Freightliner is coming out with the "Fit" system that can be retrofitted to any FL truck. Also I'd recommend flatbed since you will get more physical work then pulling a van. There's no reason you can take weights with you. I've seen guys with fold up benches under the bunk and they work out on the deck of their flatbed when empty. One guy even had a full size elliptical strapped to the top part of his step deck. No reason you cant carry an assortment of dumbells. Getting to a real gym may be possible sometimes, but certainly not regularly. If going to a "real" gym daily is a must, trucking probably isn't for you. that being said, you could eventually get a dedicated account with a gym on route, but that likely wont happen to start.

I been lifting since high school and 315 isn't much. 3 plates on each side. I do have to carry a permit when I flex. Fyi tickets are sold out to the gun show. I don't even know what dead lift is. Is that like power cling. I think not. Isn't that when u just lift weight off the ground and stand straight up. Not impressed. Get back to work on them pecks we back quiet.

Benching is 50% muscle and 50% technique. You can spot a strong bencher, not by the size of his chest, but by the thickness of the delts and the upper back muscles (after all, your back is the foundation for all upper body strength). If you look around the truckstops, you can still see the guys who at one time were heavy into the iron, but haven't touched the iron in decades. They will hit their 70s and still have their linebacker shoulders.

OP, you're not going to be able to be in a truck and maintain your strength level that you have by regularly hitting the iron. It's not going to happen. However, there are things that you can do. Get 2 pair of dumbells, a 25s and 50s. Concentrate on your military presses and you're 1 arm rows. Then take the 50s and walk laps around the truckstop (heavy cardio). Do your AB work every day. Pick a day or the lunges. If you flatbed, you can do pull-ups on the rub rail. The shoulder and back work will keep you looking manly, and the heavy cardio will keep your endurance way up. THEN, when you can, hit the gym on your 34s. Just keep in mind that you do have to be able to drive.

well I never had a trainer or anyone to ask for advice just bodybuilding.com and what I have read online so I probably been wasting my time but in the process I lost 160 lbs and if the deadlift is nothing why is it in a lot of competitions

Because it's Easy dude. What muscles do the dead lift work. Real Muscle and fitness dudes are about the the Arms, Chest, Legs, and I hate the back, but I would like to get my back built up. That's if of course I ever get back into the gym on regular basis. I'm back quiet. Oh ya congrats on the wight loss. I lost about 40 pounds because my wife said she was kicking me to the curve. That's the only time I can seem to lose weight. Think I'm gaining it back now. If I don't get something local then I may be losing that weight and my wife. But we will see. We back quiet.
