You will have to go a route something like this http://www.bowflexselecttech.com/bowflex-selecttech-us/products.jsp
You will find OTR driving doesn't lend itself real well to what routines you have at home.
If you are driving hard-its load, drive, eat, sleep, shower, deliver, load, drive, eat, sleep, shower, deliver etc.
LOL --i too was in your situation as a youth -my 2 dumbells stacked with plates spent their time rolling around the truck.
Just work on your left arm --that's the only part that you can "Hang" out of the truck- no pun intended LOL
How do OTR drivers go to the gym???

I guess it all depends on who you drive for and how much down time you have --if you are driven to get exercise in i guess you can. -
Could come work for Conway op
Drop trailer at any mildly populated city
Take break in gym parking lot & come back for the trailer in the morning to deliver.
Not a big deal.
Positive of a mega...
High value & hazmat loads you'll need to stay connected. -
I do remember something that may be good news to some that are about to go OTR trucking, When i was driving for the short time that i did --i actually lost weight yet ate constantly.
when teaming, i ate when my partner ate and all the times when i ate alone and and he slept -- full meals, chicken fried steaks and all that - i never missed a time to eat -yet i lost weight -- i wasn't fat to begin with and all i can figure is either the lack of normal 24 hour days or the air seat bouncing around, i dunno.
If you drivers end up being lifers -- i would definitely think about exercising the legs when you can - i am sure a lot of old time drivers can tell you a lot of drivers end up having problems from lack of circulation in their legs. -
well aren't you required to get 10 hours of down time ? if I can't get in 20 to 30 mins of workouts then there is something wrong with the bands I can do some of that in the sleeper of my truck same thing with sit ups now pushup I will get under my trailer and a do some pushups if I have too or put my feet on the bed and hands on the floor of the truck [QUOTE="Hang - Man";3779645]Well its for anyone that wants to try to exercise on the road --I tried pushups and situps in the sleeper but the sponge mattress made it a little hard --some of the truck stops are big enough to jog around.

I really respect people who stay motivated to do that. I used to be in great shape, but gradually the job (the 14+ as others said) ground me down. But it's definitely possible. I pulled into one of our terminals late at night last year. I saw a glowing light further back in the parking lot. When I went over to investigate, I found a guy in his 60's who had a whole set of various dumbells lined up next to his truck. Another thing to consider is something like THX that you can take with you. Unless you are on a dedicated route, it seems like seeking out different gym locations would be too time consuming.

Been working out since 15 Im 41 now. If you can make it at LEAST 3 days a week do all your heavy lifts and tax the hell out of your body (2-3 hour workout) your body will need those other 4 days to recover. THE BIGGEST thing with sitting on your ### all day (driving) is really watching what you eat. Eating will be the key building muscle isnt hard keeping the fat off over time is.
AT my best 6ft 185lbs
345 bench
550 dead lift
505 squat
All Raw no belt!! GOOD LUCK -

well I didn't think about that you are correct tho but im still gonna find time to workout somehow
