Ok so truck driving companies will hire someone with a 3 year old or 5 year old dui, yet pizza companies such as Dominos, Pizzahut, Papa Johns will never touch you until 10 years. Does this make sense? Driving a big mother truck down the highway at 65 mph ok with dui, driving your personal car at 35mph down the road not? Then again I have a dui and am trying to become a trucker, so the simple fact that pizza delivery is way out of question makes me depressed to ever find a job trucking. Can anyone explain this logic and why truck companies will hire vs pizza companies not hiring? Obviously its two different jobs, but both revolve around driving.
How do people get truck driving jobs with a dui, but impossible for pizza delivery?

How did you come to the conclusion that pizza companies won't hire somebody with a DUI? How old is your DUI by the way?

Just reading online and its 3 years old this month actually.

If true, the pizza places can be more picky since it might just be easier to find part time college kids to drive pizzas around town.
Might be a better question to ask "The Pizza Report" instead of a bunch of Truckers...unloader, newbietrucker91, flood and 6 others Thank this. -
And, if it's easier to get a CDL Job since they take drivers with 3-5 year old DUIs instead of 10 with a pizza place, why would that make you depressed? Seems if you were looking for a pizza gig then that might be an argument.

I personally think DUI should be ranked in some way. A, B, C, or something. A being drunk and wrecked. (10 year wait). B .05 or higher showing obvious signs of impairment. Or C. .04, barely buzzed, no real visible impairment. There is a big difference between "a half a beer too much" and "blasted off your rear" and the punishment should reflect that. Of course multiple offenders should be an A+. Not hire able at all. I know many people will disagree. But although I believe in punishing an offender, ruining their life long term isn't always a good option. To the OP, my company goes on a case by case basis, but usually must be 5 yo.
