That driver will never know how close that load came to cancelling lol. My hours were burnt and it would have been a pain trying to get permits not to mention the expense. Do you have $ penalty in the contract for late and no show? Not that it really does anything to keeping the customer happy but if someone doesn't do what they said they would, and it's pretty obvious they're liars, then they ought not reap any reward. I find it amazing at times when it's late and there's big money being offered that I get profuse thank yous for explaining I'm sorry but I'm tired, my hours are shot, and there's no way I could possibly service the load. I didn't get it the first time that happened lol. Greed will ruin a reputation and it won't ever come back. They seldom ever remember heroes but they never forget screwups.
How do the stay in business?!?

Bill the fact that you try to make it right with your guys sets you apart from 99 percent of the other carriers and brokers out there. When my back finally goes beyond repair, and I just can't do flatbed anymore, I'm gonna be giving you a call.

Best way I know of to blow it when you get someone who pays well, and pays on time, is by being undependable, unreliable, dishonest, and unreachable.
It takes a little while to make really good connections in this business. If you run your business like one of the mega brokerages, you know, talk like you think you're slick, lie out your tuchus, and act rudely.....it won't be long till you're wondering why you're out of biz...
This is a service industry, providing superior service is probably THE KEY to succeeding.
Well, that and having some biz smarts, gotta have some of those also...lol... -
"When we shop rates , not service, we seldom keep the carrier to long due to service failures , going right back to the carrier that charged a little more but was always there and dependable."
