Its called learning. I learned about fuel gelling from reading threads here when I started trucking a few years ago. Ignorance is never an excuse. Two ways to learn...experience (the hard way) and research. Plenty of threads here on winter driving tips.

Next time you're at the terminal pick some extra things up from the shop, fuel additive, antifreeze ,oil. You should always have extra supplies and for heaven sake Jabber ask the mechanics questions if you don't know something.

This guys is not serious. No serious person asks a bunch of professionals a question pertainng to the job and then gets side tracked with a trolling campaign on someone's grammar.

Fuel up north is treated any won't gel as easy. Fuel up down south and head north into the cold and you'll see it happen.

I filled up in TN then topped up in VA and woke up in MA with a bunk heater blowing cold air and it was only 0 outside. It's not something you want to spend time messing with when it's cold outside. :)

all i ever do is dump some 911 in the tanks change the filters and fill them up with half 911 and half fuel. if you can easly get it inside its a bit nicer to do the same thing inside and let it sit inside a while to warm up.

Well when the weather started getting cold and every truck stop north of I40 started setting up large displays of anti-gel, should have been your first clue. If you say u didn't see these displays, then you may want to consider a new career. As a driver you should always be paying attention to your surroundings. In or out of the truck.

Yes don't bring your southern fuel up here.... Buy our fuel and bring it south!

if your buying fuel near the Canadian border throw in a little additive and your good to go...I use power service at 1/2 the directed ratio. It was -17 at my house this morning
    .

To cold for me to work ... But I'm as confident as I can be the truck is fine......

Years ago, I thought, once fuel gelled, you were SOL. I guess today's fuel is different, but the old timer's always said get some #1 fast, but if you were in the middle of nowhere, where it usually happens, that may not be an option. Like others say, the time to prevent that is BEFORE it get's really cold. I always kept some additive with me, and not that Power Service , I'm not sure what that stuff is good for. That FPPF, or whatever seemed to work pretty good.
