Furthermore I been repairing inverters on and off for years and some of the absolute crap coming out of china and sold here under brands like cobra and even triplight which makes me think people are lucky that these things don't melt down just idling, let alone under a load. Pure crap. -

Whatever size inverter you use you have to have the right gauge wire depending on distance your inverter is from batteries as well as the right size amp fuse. Do not install and inverter or anything direct to your truck batteries without a fuse on positive cable right at battery terminal. Also make sure you use chaff protection on both pos/neg wires. I used an old garden hose split it and wrapped around wires.1500 watt inverter aprx 6ft from batteries 80 amp fuse 4 gauge wire gives me aprx 900 watts output on my inverter.
