B of B is container work.
There is a left turn on 52 St SE NB in Calgary.
I remember the surprise on the face of the O/O who rolled over his container (and his truck too) in that turn. Nobody got injured or killed, but, hey, it was close.
Priceless.
It seems nobody knows that most containers center of gravity is very high.
Turn very slowly, if you like your tractor.
How do we change things, not just "fix" them industry wide?

100 percent correct. We went through 5 guys in the last month. Want the money, don’t want to work nights, go to the states, work the dock, you guys work too hard, don’t like daycabs and on and on.Phantom Trucker, BigHossVolvo, AModelCat and 1 other person Thank this.

Yea. Van/Reefer seem to trade back and forth for 2nd worst spot, depending on the time of year. Sea-can is the absolute worst, Tandem/Tridem open/closed deck is getting pretty bad now also (Kings is a great example of that).
LTL (Forget Purolator), Food Service (Some), Tanker (Except Westcan/Caron/Seaboard), Oversize (just not Mullen) and Logging are still good jobs I guess.
We do Tandem Van (Mostly LTL, our Crossdocks/Warehouses) and Open Deck/Conestoga, and of course LCV. Lots of ppl apply, come in and as soon as they hear they will have to strap/handle some freight between deliveries/pickups, they simply get up and leave. "No Touch" or "Drop and Hook Only", LOL yea ok, I told HR to just print off a stack of Bison application packages, to hand to those guys.Florescent-android92, upnorthwpg, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this. -

Paragraphs, and tacos.
One makes it easier to read, the other keeps me happy when people are stupid. Which is often, so I eat a lot of tacos.
I found my happy place. Don't judge.
When life hands you lemons, trade them for tacos. A fine motto to live by.

1. Scream from the rooftops the trucking associations DO NOT REPRESENT the trucking industry. Particularly when some government idiot is touting some new convoluted "safety" regulation as supported by the trucking associations
2. Really go after the companies that put unsafe drivers on the road. Oh wait most of them are members of the associations and the associations don't endorse that idea.Magoo1968, BigHossVolvo and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
