If your company has given you the legally required training to be a certified brake inspector, and if company policy allows you to adjust them yourself, then I see no reason not to.

Yes @RockinChair has a point, he could be correct. Most companies have a manual for there employees on what they can do or not. Better look into it.

As others have mentioned a 9/16 wrench. But you need to make sure you don’t over tighten them because if you overtighten them, you can smoke your brakes or even Start a fire. In a pinch to get the tandems to slide Use A wood block or a piece of stone or something To keep them from rolling.
