What do you all think about this setup?

This seems to be the perfect setup to not fail. This is what my current trailer uses.

That plate top right mounts to the trailer. That arm lower right connects to the plate with the threads. The other side just slides in to that lever on the slack.

Meritor slack. When that little rubber grommet on a Haldex wears the brake don't set as "tight". Have to be timed correctly when installed.

Unless I am missing something, the parking brakes on 4 trailer brakes aren't holding a trailer. Someone had better look into that. Take a flashlight at the very least and see what you got under there. When the air rushed out of the chamber, the shoes contact the drums quite hard, or they are supposed to. You have a trailer with little to no brakes

My very first truck driving job, while going through training, they took the three of us out in the shop, led us down in the mechanics pit and taught us to adjust the brakes on both a tractor and a trailer, I still carry the card, although it's somewhat falling apart and not relevant anymore. Anyone that hauls intermodal knows that manual adjusters still exist, by the thousands, auto adjusters exist as well, by the hundreds.

BTW, best $80 bucks I ever spent, carry them in the truck at all times, never knew these kits existed till I had the brakes freeze up on a chassis at the depot, mechanic came out with this set in his hands and crawled under, ended up backing off the brakes fully and bad ordered the chassis. I asked him where he bought the set from, he said Amazon, I took a picture of the name and had it on order before I was back in the yard.
