PAM Transport has a school that will train you in exchange for working for PAM for 1 year. It is what I plan to do in order for me to be able to get my license as I do not have a truck and so therefore my options are extremely limited.

 

How do you become a trucker with money?

 

Win the lottery.

 

Check out the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) grants in your area. They will pay everything for school up to a $6000 cap. Use that and get your training from a Community College. Once you're finished, you will have your CDL and you won't be indebted to anyone.

That's what I did. It's nice to know I'll have my CDL in another month and I can be a little more picky about what company I choose to work for.

 

It's easy to do really... At least for me it was. First I bought my truck. Then it didn't take long until I was a truck driver with no money!

 

WIA or company paid training are probably the best way to go if you're penniless. If you go with a company, do some homework and plan of sticking it out until you've repaid them for the schooling.
