Just out of curiosity how many times have you been on the side of road with a blowout on a drive tire?

Maybe, but I've found, ( and I used to be an air tool repairer) the truck compressor doesn't put out enough air to run most impacts. Trouble with Budd wheels, you can go years until you need to get that wheel off, and there's always a couple lugnuts that won't budge. Tube type wasn't so much a problem, as those wheels came off once a week.

    Very.

You will also be surprised at how fast virgin tires become abused by out of spec alignment, bad suspension etc.

Any time you have that classic feeling of being tight fisted with not wanting to spend money, examine your tires really good.

He’s referring to the battery-powered Milwaukee impact wrench. If I remember correctly, they have 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1” drives available. They can do 1400, 1600, and 1800 ft lbs in reverse, each matching the order of the drive size.

I carry a 1" impact and can run it off the truck air, the trick is to have the hose come directly off the air tank. It is slow, having to stop often and let the air build, but it can be done.

Don't need a jack either on the trailer. If you have a hydraulic RGN, you can raise the neck up high, put some blocks under the frame right in front of the axles, let the neck down, and the tires come up.

Even running the haul road where it is 500 miles of bad road between places to get a tire, I carry my spares bolted to the hub, when I have needed a steer, (only once) I just took a drive tire off and used it to get home.

Absolutely not true. The one with more tread will wear faster than if they was matched, but won't "destroy it".
