Both UPS and FedEx deliver parcels to the Post Office so they(PO) can deliver them. This way of delivery service is called Parcel Select. They say it's cheaper for PO to deliver than Co drivers. You can also use General Delivery at a Post Office for no charge, You just have to make sure that post office HAS General Delivey available at it's location. Not all post office's have General Delivery service. The post office will hold the package indefinitely. You don't have to register to receive mail/parcels at GD. Because I am not sure of how the parkage will be sent, I put both my POB and my physical address on the shipping info when I order. That way no matter how it is shipped, I will get the package no matter what.
How do you deal with mail/packages

Course sometimes I don't want him to see it either..
In which case I call the Postmaster and ask her to hold it till I get back. Thank Gawd for small towns.. And pray she does not "peek".

Rent a box from a location that has a physical address Mike Smith 1234 Main St Box 1234 Nowhere, CA 91111, not an address like Mike Smith PO Box 1234 Nowhere, CA 91111. Fedex and UPS will deliver to a physical address but not a PO Box. IF you decide to go with an actual post office box at the post office, for a nominal fee (around $100-$200) they will hold or forward your mail. They do this for the "Snow Birds" who travel to warmer weather during the winter. It really does not matter what size you rent as long as you make the location aware that you will be in every X number of weeks.

po box is 17 for 3 months.I am currently fighting with the city because I use my daughters address for my income tax according to the rules your mailing address on your federal income tax is considered your permanant abode.so getting a po box is lot safer
