How do you deal with mud on your boots getting in your truck?

These replies remind me of picking up a "trash load" in Metro Jersey... the shipper was literally situated in a dump, and the mud stunk to high heaven... I had an older pair of work boots which had just about seen their day, so I put those on to get out and open my trailer doors. Waited patiently while they crammed the dry box full of nasty stinking garbage, then closed the doors and walked back to my tractor. NO WAY I was gonna bring those funky boots back into the cab, so they got tossed right off the running boards or side deck of my tractor, and good riddance. I'll tell ya what, that nasty trash load just RUINED the dry box too, it still stunk even after a lengthy trailer washout, but the owner of the truck wanted me to run that load, so I did. IIRC, it went to a landfill in Youngstown, OH. I guess NYC and Metro Jersey generate so much trash that they gotta "farm out" the disposal... ugh. Had that been my equipment, I never would've agreed to haul trash with it... I used to haul hazardous waste in dry boxes, but that was all drummed up or boxed up and palletized, 10-4? So the wagons remained relatively clean, but that fresh garbage outta NYC and Metro Jersey, that stuff was downright NASTY, it made the hazardous waste smell like roses, lol.

I use rubber boots and BAMA socks to drive in.

If fuel haulers stop by there will be fuel in the bug juice to smear on your windshield.

Use the air hose on my seat to get them as clean as possible. Let them dry out on the passanger side and clean up the mud afterwards

I work in the frac industry, trucks are an instrument for work. Scrap them as best possible, using the steps. Dirt on the floor wont hurt a thing. When at the end of day, open both doors and use an air gun to blow out the cab, if needed.

Kick my boots off on the tires and beat out my floor mat daily. My boots don't make it past the driver's seat. It's a work truck not a 100k luxury car but for 30 years old it's really clean. Gets vacuumed out usually once a week or every other week

I only did one load of scrap bales, never again. This place wasn't meant for 53s. I was ####ed at about a 45 degree angle in the dock to make it fit. Just barely enough to get the dock plate in Lol.

669A8C7E-184C-4C42-A54E-C86EE5069096.jpeg Pick one of these up at a truck stop for around $15. They just zip tie to your step. (Zip ties included) I work in really muddy conditions and these work well. I also vacuum my truck once a year or so whether it needs it or not.
