Recently I have a new pickup that I have to go daily, and on the way there is a roundabout, 1 of those with 2 lanes...
Well there's a yellow sign saying crap like "don't drive beside a truck when they are in the roundabouts" But I am sure you guys know how successful such a sign can be on regulating traffic...
1 day I was actually forced to stop dead in the roundabout because I would've wipe out that stupid 4 wheeler driving beside my trailer inside the roundabout...
So what do I do, recently what I've been doing is, I put the 4 way flashers on and take both lanes going into the roundabouts so that I block all 4 wheelers...
I am just wondering, how do you experience drivers deal with situation like this? Also, sometimes there are some tight turns in construction zone or in city driving, how do you deal with that 4 wheeler driving right beside you???
How do you deal with roundabouts?

I do just what you've found yourself doing.
#1 I ain't in no hurry.
# 2 I make sure everyone around me knows my intentions.
#3 Probably the most important thing I do is drive past my hood, look to try to adjust my position BEFORE I get to it.
I find that if they see and know what you're doing, "most" will give you the space you need.
Sure taking 2 lanes is gonna make someone get angry with you, who cares? JOB 1 is doing what you feel is right for the situation.gentleroger, volvodriver01 and Bill104 Thank this. -
use the whole road, flashers, horn, and anything else you can to intimidate the idiot 4wheelers near you. I regularly run thru two roundabouts and most 4wheelers are pretty good about getting out of the way, if not I will use the above mentioned as well hitting a few bot dots and some stripe to stripe wobble (don't tell me you have never done it) or lane blockage. It helps, but I still have to stop occassionally to let some idiot get thru, and on one of the circles you have to use both lanes, its just not big enough.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Just keep doing what you are doing. And if you have to stop for someone to get out of the way, do so. Better to stop for a second than to crunch them under your trailer. The ones most likely to get in your way are kids, and they just don't know any better.

I go through one a lot that I usually just take up the whole thing to keep them out of my way. The thing I worry about most is keeping an eye on the morons that don't know what a yield sign means.

I do pretty much the same as the OP.
Slow down, flashers on,watch the mirrors until i can take both lanes before turning into the roundabout.
Same goes for tight 2 lane, one way streets in the city. -
Watch your mirrors and swing wide and slow....Merry Christmas.........
-
take up both lanes before entering.

I've only dealt with 3 roundabouts since I came back OTR, the two on US93 in Wickenburg, AZ and the one that connects US50A and I40 in Fernley, NV. I managed to get through without a problem.

I'd like to find the moron that designs these roundabouts on truck routes!
