I've been posting some stuff because my husband is thinking of going back to trucking, only this time as a class A instead of class B driver. Looking for helpful tips. Since he's been out of it, seems more companies are slowing their trucks down to 3 mph.. 4 wheelers don't realize or care that the person in the truck has no control over it. How do you guys deal with it, other than cussing up a blue streak?
Matter of fact: I've never understood why on earth a person in a car would drive on the bumper of an 18 wheeler.. Wonder if people really think it's ok to slam in the back of one of you guys.. Oh well, I remember all to well: Somehow it ends up being the trucker's fault that the 4-wheeler was that close..

We drive a little slower cause were not a little lower.
We get used to it, but we never like it, i hear they tailgate cause they think it saves them gas, maybe if dmvwould require everyone to look at wrecks to get a lic lol, more gov control, lol.

the tailgate me to the point to where i can see there car in my mirrors at all. Once i do notice they are normally when im at a 61 mph cruise control, i let off and go slower then the come around. Usually get to 55 and theyre already around me. Tail gating isnt as bad as coming of the on ramp at 40 and not accelerating, or fitting themselves in between to tractor trailers, like the covering distance is for them to slide in. Governed trucks arent the problem its the numb nuts on the road

I'll take 100 cars tailgating me all day rather than the 4,000 that pass me and then drive 2mph slower than when they were behind me. Other truckers do this also.

My truck is governed at 65 m.p.h. because I go into Canada . Most of the time it isn't a problem but it is aggravating when the truck ahead of me keeps slow down to 62 m.p.h. then speeding back up to 65 when I pull out to pass . After a couple of times of that I just pull out to pass and stay there . Varying speeds are especially aggravating with a loaded tanker .
As for tailgating 4 wheelers they need to see more pics of qwhat happens when a truck in front of a tailgating 4 wheeler stops suddenly and there is another truck tailgating the 4 wheeler .
I've also heard of drivers with 4 wheelers on their bumper waiting until last minute to change lanes to miss debris like a big gator in their lane . The 4 wheeler will hit it every time .

    Greeting,
I don't care anymore. Most have figured out that Large cars are heavier and not a fast as their 4 wheelers but there are a few still out there that have not figure out . Most of the lower 48 states don't have a min speed limit set into law only max speed limit. Some say 40 min. New Mexico drive as slow as you want or as fast until you are caught. Mainly I don't personalize their anger or anyone else's for that matter. It is what it is. Even the Drivers today are different.. If I don't get flipped off at least 5 times a week. I am not doing my job. HA HA . I drive 65 or less.

People are strange. You can meet the nicest person in the world, someone you most likely respect. You often put them behind a steering wheel & they become a different person.

My truck is governed to 68mph. I run pretty much NorthWest. Speed limits are: Oregon 55, Washington 60, Idaho and Montana 65. The truck being governed has absolutely no effect on me and how I drive.

By keeping the pedal to the metal and know I won't be speeding 99% of the time!!!!
