Average pay, which you can find by looking around, on a w2 with benefits. This will not guarantee good drivers though. What it will do is make sure your pool of applicants isn't 100% crap drivers. From there interviews and background checks should give you an idea of which ones are better.
How do you find good driver's?

I don't think that will work. We all have "that one guy" in our company who thinks he is the most important driver in the fleet, he makes the company more money than all the other drivers, and the company would close their doors if he quit! Advertising .75cpm would attract that guy.

Look for drivers, not babysitters, mechanics, dispatchers for your truck.
Tropsnart and Montanajon Thank this. -
Hey some of that stuff they call garbage worked without problems for decades, it is a different world, we used to be able to help each other, but now you have to protect yourself and the world has always been nuts. Some of us are adapting while others are lost. I been a caretaker for ma the last year or so and jonesing for the road..and there has been a change.Montanajon Thanks this.

I have an opinion on this matter.

I’m really interested in people’s inputs on this matter as well just to try to better myself anyone out there would like to share what they like most about the company they work for is it the money, home time, loads, equipment. I’m running 780’s with I shift own shop maintained to the t. With everything but would always love to hear people’s inputs. Right now I’m offering 1500 a week up to 2500 miles week paid vacation as well as fuel and equipment bonus but find I am denying more drivers just cuz their expectations are so high they are money hungry and don’t agree with simple rules. If some of you guys would like to share about what made u choose the company you are currently driving for that would be a great insight to me since I don’t go on the road much.
Montanajon, nax and slim shady Thank this. -
Part of the problem is that most drivers are suspicious that if you say they'll get 2,500 miles, they expect to get only 1,500, and that's what they do the math on.
For a good reason. They've been burned before.Jazz1 Thanks this. -
How many corn dogs is it gonna cost the op this timeDave_in_AZ Thanks this.

Benefits, a real retirement plan, I don't want all the miles I can stand to run,I want to make lthe same money I could make running 32-3500 miles a week without having to run all those miles week in and week out to have a consistent paycheck. The cpm gig hasn't worked for years
