Craigslist, if you watch it for awhile you'll see a pattern of which company's hiring warm bodies and which ones are looking for good help. Don't take anything that doesn't have housing.

A buddy of mine was offered a roustabout job on the Indian Reservation in mandaree North Dakota and they told him it included free housing. He put in his notice where I was working and then after he quit, he drove down to the office for the new company and they pointed to a wooden Shack next to a horse corral and told him that was the housing and there was a porta-potty across the parking lot and that was his restroom. The wooden Shack had a dirt floor and no source of heat or air conditioning. Needless to say he came begging for his job back the next day.
