how do you get into mavericks driving school

Maverick has no "classes" for getting your CDL. If you already have one then apply for the job. If you get asked you will then go to orientation. If hired you will then do training in which ever division you go to.

 

Maverick doesnt operate a cdl school,you must already have a cdl to apply. If you need a cdl may I recommend Prime Inc out of springfield mo. They have the best company run school that I know of in my many years of experience. Just stay away from the lease for at least a year or two. They pay well and treat their drivers good.

 

Prime's "apprenticeship" program is way too long though.


Obtain a permit in your state.
Drive on the road 3-4 weeks with a CDL instructor.
Return, pass Skills Test - Obtain Class A CDL.
Team with a trainer for 4-6 months with guaranteed pay (12 cent a mile)
Maximum note - $3500

The length of their program is precisely why they have some of the safest new drivers.

 

The guaranteed pay is a minum of $600/wk.

 

I'd get pissed being forced to live with a stranger in that tight of quarters for 6 months...that is ridiculous. Let's be real, it is a way to move team freight cheaper. It even says TEAM with a trainer.

I have no issues with Prime as a company (none at all), they may even be a solid outfit to work for...I just don't see riding for 6 months in a truck with a stranger
