Home Depot in Apex NC is awesome. Very nice to truckers and so are the local police. Police said there's np parking just don't idle at the local target in Apex due to some grouchy old ladies who call the pd and complain.

We drop the trailer and go to WM, K-mart, target. Only outside of portland have we had WM security start to give us a hassle. I simply said " do you really want me to go back into the store and VERY loudly explain why I'm returning my groceries to your store manager? Do you really REALLY want me to make a big scene in the front of your store where all the nice people will hear me praying for your soul because you won't let me park long enough to put my bags in the tractor?" He said we could stay as long as we wanted.

walmart is a truckers bloomingdales, loved that store while out on the road. Never had one problem with any walmart re: parking or idling or nada. even though they treat their employees like crap, i will continue to give walmart my money just because they were always a port in the storm for me.

I don't go shopping anymore while out on the road...I don't feel confident enough to...
I only shop now, when I'm home...
Whenever I go into strange places in my rig...I feel like I stand out...like I have a scarlet letter written on my forehead...

like everyones whispering...'Hey, look at them, there not from around here...they must be a truck driver....

I use to didn't feel that way...but a lot has changed within me over the years...

And for some reason, I always feel I look like a mess when I step out of truck and into a mall situation where I'm competing with people who have just left their homes, with big mirrors and shower and bathroom...and I'm trying to compete with these people for looks...

    (yes, I know, that's so metrosexual of me)...but that's how I feel...I feel marked...

So I just don't shop anymore while out...I buy what I can find at truck stops...and that isn't much...but luckly I'm not gone for weeks at a time like I use to be...
