I've done it with a engine crane before on a 60 Detroit with my down time and parts I figured I was into it more than I would have been by taking it to a good shop and paying someone. I lost freight and price of parts so last fall I had a head gasket fail. I took it in and it was around 2300$ I leased one of their trucks for the week 1100$ so after fuel and lease and 2300 for the repair I still made 1200 .
How do you guys lift a head

It took us about 7 hours to remove and almost 11 put it back together. The isx you have to remove the cams to get to the head bolts so radiator and all had to come out. Not sure how your motor is.

We made a huge engine puller that mounts to 3pt of a tractor or forks on skid steer-- we made it to pull combines engines ... thats what we used to do our last head on a dt466.
