Looking into team driving with my wife. Ten years ago when I drove OTR my truck was only off to fuel-up and cool nights :biggrin_25518: Are idling regulations going to make comfort a issue? Do we need to worry about the Idling Cops if try to get deep; the truck is stopped sleep?

:help:Thank You, for your time :help:

I ignore the regulations. When someone says something to me I snarl at them and inform them I'm in menopause and that when it's 112 outside and I'm having a hot flash do they REALLY wish to around me? They get in their little security carts and drive away after apologizing.

    Rocks Thanks this.

How often do they even enforce the idling crap? Even law enforcement knows it's crap. I've heard if your gonna idle to turn off your lights because you have a less chance of getting caught. I will admit some people do idle unnecessary. I can sleep in the cold just fine but I can take the heat but it's the humidity that does me in.

    CARB is out there..believe me...

    Ask Bonnie....she'll tell you....

I was on the 5 south bound after dropping a load in Taft when it started to snow....the N/B side was shut down from Castaic......The CARB Nazis were out in force to ensure nobody idled........I heard drivers whining all the way down on the radio...CHP were there to make sure nobody gave CARB sheyat....

DFW and Austin enforce it from April-October.....

So I even if it's below 32 degrees they don't want you to idle. What idiots, they are creating another problem...Froze trucks with gelled fuel.

    That's Cali for you......

You do know that if you have a 2007 or newer rig with the Clean Idle decal...you can idle to your heart's content in VA.....

I heard about that for being everywhere. But if you have an 06 or older dirty diesel you can't. They should lower it to 03 since they are a lot cleaner. Then again these electronic diesels are much cleaner than the older mechanic diesels from the 80's.
