Seriously! It's funny at times. My poor husband will be bundled up when we're dropping and hooking in Salt Lake City......snow on the ground.....I'm doing the drop and hook in a tank top with the windows open. The guys from inside the plant come out to check the reefer settings and ask "aren't you cold?"

WRONG! Go look it up! Maybe for a car but that is not what it says in the CARB rules! Keep believing the BS you hear on the CB, restaurant counter and even in here! None of the states with anti idle laws especially CA have a rule that allows you to idle with a flea bag in the cab! You WILL be written up for animal cruelty if the truck is NOT idling! ROFLMAO! I know drivers who fell for that BS, bought a little carpet cruncher and still got the ticket and tried to fight it without a lawyer and lost. Boy did they get rid of the flea bags after that!

CARB = California Air Resources Board. How does that have anything to do with the Environmental Protection Agency, a unit of the United States (federal) government?

I sleep in the reefer. Just kidding...

As time goes on, it is going to get worse. I have heard of drivers getting tickets for outboard generators! Imagine if the cops went to the store to buy new undies and they weren't there. But they will never make the connection.

I'll give you a hint,it has the same origins as the EPA.

Of coarse you wont directly link them to the Feds, thats how they roll.
This was breaking big time news 25 or so years ago . . . . .
Its always been ARB,and most people believe Al Gore started this crap ?

Did some one really get a ticket for a generator? (This should be green over running a big truck engine all day?) Anyone using a mini Honda for power? Do more truck stop have 120 hookups? Only 4 when I stepped out of the big truck 10years ago.

I've seen a few "mini-Honda" and home-made types. I'm not sure how well they stand up... even on the catwalk behind the sleeper, these things get quite a bit of abuse from all the crud that gets thrown up from the road.

I read on another post that you can still get the Idleaire stuff to work if you have a card to swipe. I really haven't seen many accessible 120V outlets in truckstop parking lots myself, but I don't look for them either. Having an APU makes you self reliant.
