Th other day I was broken down for like 2-3 hours. Our company still uses paper logs. I logged my breakdown time as "off duty". Are you suppose to log it as "on duty"? I figured since I was just sitting in truck and not actually doing any work, it would be considered "off duty".

What if you run your 14 hour clock out?
Do you still stay on duty and use "Adverse Conditions Rule" for another 2 hours?
Do you kick the mechanic out and have him come back after your 10 Break?

14 hour clock has nothing to do with on duty time. Only the driving time.

Yep you can work on duty not driving as long as you want but can not drive again after 14 hours until you have taken a break.

you can be on duty for 100 hours as long as your not driving.

If I am on the side of the road I would log on duty not driving until I got to a shop and hotel. If I pull into a truck stop for say a tire repair I might log off duty or sleeper berth while they fix it if I eat a meal or take a shower. I treat it like a customer unload. Often times the shop will buy lunch for you while you wait.XtremeFitness Thanks this.
