How do you log breakdown time?

Per the regulations.

On-duty time means all time from the time a driver begins to work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time the driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work. On-duty time shall include:

(6) All time repairing, obtaining assistance, or remaining in attendance upon a disabled commercial motor vehicle;

 

The mechanic.. tech.. etc is suppose to sign your log on the repair when complete and ready to roll

Good question.... lets explore this some more, it says, "All time repairing, obtaining assistance, or remaining in attendance upon a disabled commercial motor vehicle"
What if you run your 14 hour clock out?
Do you still stay on duty and use "Adverse Conditions Rule" for another 2 hours?
Do you kick the mechanic out and have him come back after your 10 Break?
Is this why the mechanic signs your log?

 

14 hour clock has nothing to do with on duty time. Only the driving time.

you can be on duty for 100 hours as long as your not driving.
