I dont get it, this is what most companies are paying, right?
Fuel alone is about 50cents a mile, then after taxes your not making any more than a 40cent company driver with no cushion for truck expences?
Do i have that right or am i missing something here?
How do you o/o for ~$1/mile?

I figure fuel, truck, & me. Miles to travel, & extra costs. If they don't like the number get an amateur.

i survived on 1.20 a mile. forced dispatch. car payment, bike payment, rent and small bills. but i averaged 3500 miles a week. DH was arouand 500. wife passed away, kids are married, and dogs are supporting themselves.
only thing that killed me were the breakdowns.
i'm doing it again though. for better pay. newer truck and much lower miles. with a different company. -
I pulled a tanker for Schneider @ 1.05. But they were giving a .45 cent fsc Making it 1.50 Loaded or empty. I was avg $2,200 bring home after fuel, truck payment, ins etc.
