Yeah; I don't understand why whoever designed it only made the driving lane for tractor-trailers 15 feet wide. I could have figured out that a tractor-trailer would need more space than that to pull into an individual parking space if there were tractor-trailers on each side of the open space when I was 12 years old.

I had someone knock on my door in a similar place asking if I could pull up some so they could get in the spot next to me and then back up to where I was at first. I kindly obliged but I’m not a di@$ and had some compassion for a person needing a spot to get some rest. But I’m not sure I would do the knocking with some of these rude uncaring drivers just out for themselves out here…and just looking for a confrontation…

Truthfully I haven’t been to that specific rest area but I’ve been to some where you basically have drive in front and back into the spot because the trucks don’t pull in all the way.But then others give you no room to pull out either without running over the curb onto the grass. Then you’re in the problem where you can’t get in from the front or back side (I’ve been to a few of these) one I was able to curb the truck onto the sidewalk and then carefully pull in (it was a light load probably wouldn’t try with a heavy load) and others I still have time to try 2-3 more places so I just continue on. But on more than one occasion I’ve backed down and set up a blind side back to get parking but only if the rest area isn’t busy and if I can easily get into the front side of the trucks I won’t squeeze into the lane if it’s tight.
